Having a bookkeeper can be a huge asset to your business. By organizing your financial history and having up to date Reports like Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets it makes it possible to plan and project your businesses future accurately.

You’re already organized if you want to apply for a business loan and, you are three steps ahead when tax season when it rolls around.

  • When does my business need a bookkeeper?

If you are starting or you own a business there is not a bad time to hire a bookkeeper.

If you are brand new and short on cash flow and have minimal transactions we offer a quarterly package just for you! You have a smaller cost while getting started and still have the peace of mind knowing your books are accurate and ready for taxes at year end.

  • What does a bookkeeper do?

This is our most asked question! Put in simple terms, we track and keep record of:

*Assets: Money, Equipment, vehicles, inventory (if applicable)

    *Liability: Loans, Credit Cards

*Equity: The Total value of your business, what you and your assets put in, and what is pulled out.

This is done by looking at the businesses bank statements and additional documents we ask you to provide. This information is organized and put into reports that show the overall health of your business.

We generate reports (profit & loss, balance sheet, statement of cash flows) on your business monthly, quarterly, and annually.

  • Do you file my taxes?

NewPage Bookkeeping does not currently file taxes but will offer that service in the future. We keep record of your businesses daily and weekly, and monthly functions & activities then generate reports from that information and send them to your Tax Professional (we can refer you to great ones if you don’t have one). We will work together with your Tax Professional to make sure everything is compliant and that you get maximum tax write offs.

  • What is the difference between a bookkeeper and a CPA?

A CPA files taxes, creates tax plans and strategies and focuses on quarterly, year-end and tax season work, though many offer bookkeeping to.

A bookkeeper hyper focuses on the daily and month to month activities of the business and works with CPA’s and other accounting professionals to have the best business and tax strategy for each individual business.
